looking around 600-800 dollar range. (I dont really game that much at all anymore and I cant justify buying something top of the line these days)

The ASUS ROGs look pretty solid, but I'd like to get some imput from you guys since you definitely know more than I do.

If I was trying to do cheap and good, a laptop would not be my choice.

If you wanted to double that there's some great options but I'm not sure you can get away with a decent gaming laptop for 600-800 unless you want to go refurbs or something.
