I am not good at reading graphs/tables, but this makes it appear as if making rank 14 is not as hard as Blizzard initially made it sound.

according to the europe honor system explanation:

Honorable kill (HK): killing a "green" or higher level player of the opposing team, or killing one of the NPCs considered a racial leader.
Dishonorable kill (DHK): killing a "gray" NPC flagged as a civilian.
Contribution points (CP): points awarded daily based on your honorable kills.
Honor points (HP): points awarded weekly based on your contribution points compared to the total contribution points awarded to your entire team throughout the week. HK has no direct effect on your honor points.

I seriously doubt it will take 30 weeks to achieve Grand Marshal. There probably was a weekly cap on how high your rank can rise.

You will not gain contribution points for healing targets, however, as other posters have pointed out, you will receive contribution points when members of your party (or raid) kill an enemy considered honorable. This will allow players to focus on healing members of their party, while gaining contribution.

While healing members outside your group or raid will not grant contribution points, it is certainly a nice things to do. ;)

Blizzard fucks priest. As of now honor gained is most effective when solo. So likewise, anyone who groups with someone else SPLITS their CP evenly between the two players in the same way exp gets split in parties.

Um, wasn't it stated that people who do more damage to a mob get more cont points? So if a priest is healing instead of contributing with damage spells, wouldn't they receive very few cont points

This is how the system works if you're soloing, Sinwave. Contribution points are split up in a group much the same way experience points are shared. Meaning, the points will be split, regardless of your damage output, but still, taking your level into consideration.

Blizzard is retarded. Listen to their theory on how priests should get their CP (since it is now official that HEALS DO NOT GIVE CP IN ANY WAY, PARTY OR NOT):

Keeping your group alive through the use of healing spells, results in more contribution points for everyone in your party, including the healer, Liera. You're certainly free to respec, however, I do hope that you see the value in healing.

that's such bullshit.
Since there are so many DOTs in this game that need to be dispeled, and because large groups focus on one player at a time, healing should at least add a fraction of CP whether grouped or not. Right now, if i throw a mindblast/swp on a target another non-partied player is fighting, i get a portion of the CP, where as if I do the same in terms of heal (I heal the player fighting his target) I get nothing. That's fucked up.

that's the thing, I tried going solo in hillsbrad and i got diddly shit because the entire thing was a huge standoff. Since mages and hunters have the largest range, longer than mine, i don't know how I'd get anything. I got maybe 3 kills in 30 minutes yesterday
