Catbus has fur, which will burn quickly when set alight. Shambler has a smooth and shiny exoskeliton, resistant to all elements and blunt traumas.

While I appreciate your concern, Renn is the one who needs to be comforted. You see, Shambler was his beloved pet who he forgot to feed for months, and finally, in the middle of the hell that is Molten Core, Shambler chose to run away and face the elements, elementals, giants, nagas, and even Ragnaros, instead of staying with the dorf.

So yeah, cry for Renn.
