Soooooooo. My computer isn't happy. Lately, when I've had to restart it, it kind of gets in a restart loop for a while. It doesn't get to posting before it restarts. If I flip the switch on the power supply, and then try again, it usually works after a few times. Luckily I don't really restart much. However, I just moved, and now, after restarting itself a few times, shuts down a few secs after I power it on. I have to dig out my power supply tester, but as of a few months ago, the PS tested fine. The best I've gotten it to do is if I leave it alone for a while, it'll do the restarting thing until it eventually just powers down right away.
I have another of the same mobo that broke before (asus a7n8x), so I'm going to try switching the cmos battery, but other than that I have no clue. I opened it up, and it's not a connection/fan thing. qq

I've seen this happen when RAM is failing as well. Have you run Memtest lately?
Re: wtfbbqcompissues
bad hard drive sounds like to me. cmos battery going out is like next to impossible. run a HD test.

Re: wtfbbqcompissues
A restart will be either RAM, Motherboard or power supply 90% of the time. Hard drives won't cause a re-set unless they are seriously fucked up. What does your ower supply tester do? If it just measures voltages, then that doesn't really test much (under load is the only way to really test it). I would swap out your mobo, then if that doesn't work, try an old power supply or borrow one (that's where my money is...).
Re: wtfbbqcompissues
We had a issue with firbys comp where it was the HD. It would go into a loop of restarting. would get almost to bios screen and restart, and continue non stop. Replaced the HD and no more problems. So if this sounds like what is happening might want to check into it. My money is on HD > PSU >RAM >Mobo, in this order.
Sounds like your kernels are fucked.
