Best rated and selling 2008 computer game according to IGN. It's a RTS and it looks pretty massive. Anyone have this and would they recommend buying it?
Also, any sort of performance issues if a computer isn't up to par?

I downloaded it and played through the tutorials. Like any 4x game, there is a lot of menu interfaces to get use to so you can manage your empire without much thought. Seems like it has potential and if I ever get a chance to play more PC games I intend to play some more.
It runs really smooth at max settings on my machine. My video card is weak, like a 7800GT, but I have a Quadcore OCed to 3.6Ghz with 4gigs of ram and vista 64.

Arkinia, are you water cooling or air cooling? I'll be getting the Q6600 Quad Core as well, and probably the Zalman 9700 CPU fan/heatsink. It's only 2.4 stock, but from what i hear 3.0-3.2 is easy, but 3.6 on air cooling might be difficult.

I'm on air...running a Thermalright Ultima 90. 3.4 was easy, first try....3.6 took a bit of tweaking.

game is fucking awesome. No campaign mode or anything like that, it's purely scenario/multiplayer stuff. I'd compare it to Star Wars: Empire at War's campaign map system, except that all the combat takes place real time on the map, Homeworld style. It's good times, definitely.

Thanks, I've been looking at some Youtube video of battles and what game-play is all about. Looks pretty exciting. Seems like a lot more strategy is involved than say, starcraft/warcraft, which is the extent of my strategy gaming experience goes.
Well I played Simcity and shit like that too!

So I went out and bought it. Seems massive and I like that. I'm really interested in the large scale solar system set ups. I enjoy this macro managing type of game, but with the micro stuff as well.
However, I've only played a little bit, but the game itself seems a bit..slow paced?
