Just curious guys:
What are your preferred specs for rogue PVP?
I'm no PVP hotshot by any means, but I have the most fun as Mutilate, and 31/0/30. I've met more success in arena as shadowstep though.
In regards to Mutilate though, how do you guys spend the extra 20 points outside of assassination? I heard about going into combat for the 50% increase to offhand damage, but I'm not sure how that would measure up against Opportunity. I'm trying to look up some formulas and stuff now in regards to that.
So yeah, rogue pvp specs go!

Re: Rogue PvP Spec
I prefer to spec my rogue 20/20/20. I don't even spend the last point cause it's not needed.

Full Of Win.
The laughter penetrates my silence.
As drunken men find flaws in science.
Their words mostly noises.
Ghost with just voices.
Your words in my memory.
Like music to me.

Re: Rogue PvP Spec
53/1/7 was my last mut build. It was fun in arena and BGs/world PvP. Combat point was in gouge, sub was for opp and dirty tricks. Mut with just 31 pts in assass is pretty lol. Full on poison talents is what makes the build shine, and once you've invested that much, you might as well round out with some other good assass talents. Choices in assass are pretty obvious, leaving you with 3 pts left over to spend as you see fit in assass, or wherever. Deadened nerves, imp evis, whatever. With 2.4 out, you may want them in Puncturing Wounds (the old Imp BS).

Re: Rogue PvP Spec
i put together a spec for picking off low-hp people while they're sitting in AV:
5/5 opp
3/3 imp amb
3/3 s-blades
2/2 ddeeds
3/3 mos
5/5 deadliness
5/5 s-calling
1/1 shadowstep
2/2 murder in ass.
basically a macro'd dagger w/stealth then heavy-hitters w/o stealth
try it at home, but don't take it to arena :-)

Re: Rogue PvP Spec
The spec that Slayton linked is correct, except you should get 5/5 vile poisons and 4/5 lethality.

Sorry I haven't replied back here in a while, been busy.
Thanks for the responses, and that shadowstep build is pretty much what I roll with, only I also opt for 3/3 imp gouge, and sometimes I mess with Improved Exposed Armor.
I tried out mutilate a bit more this past week, and it seems like it has a lot of potential, but it would require alot of practice and skill if I were to aim for a high arena rating in 2's or 3's. Crazy fun though o_o
