New Patch Notes?

Post by Joonibal »

Supposedly the patch notes that were "leaked." We will know if it's real within the next few days, as the CMs said the notes are coming this week:

omg...if these are the real notes, I will be shocked and amazed. There are three improvements/fixes in there for hunters that will make things better for us. Not by a ton, but still significantly. I'm curious about the epic quest, too...

EDIT:
Minor Recombobulator now restores health and mana as well as removing polymorph effects.
So, like, a tank could carry savory deviate delight or nogginfogger, polymorph himself, and an engi could unmorph him for a full heal?...

Hmmm. I may keep engineering after all, and not switch to alchemy...

This would make me a very happy hunter.

You forgot one of the best parts - Diminishing returns on Frostshock!

My first guess would be Hunter Epic quest comes from Rexxar. We'll see.

We are currently in the process of finalizing patch notes for the next patch. Please be advised that official patch notes will be posted on our site. Please do not post patch notes from other sources as there is no way of confirming their validity. Thank you.

EDIT: Be advised that, if you do post patch notes that are not official, we will delete the post and take action accordingly.

There are a lot of typos in these notes, but if they are fake, someone went to a lot of effort to research existing problems and quotes by blue.

Yup, Ark, I saw that too. But these notes have to be pretty close, or at least, official looking enough, to get them to post a reply in blue on the boards.

As of now, Caydiem has confirmed the Scatter Shot change and the Track Hidden change, on the hunter forums.

yeah, that'd be a pretty big hoax to pull of. I think that it might be a sign that they are at least partly real because blizzard said they will put together an "official" list of notes. Let's hope we see it soon.

My sense is that these are legitimate notes but incomplete or not fully edited--hence the typos and other inconsistencies. Remember: A lot of these items were either directly confirmed by the CMs in other posts or implied in them.

Mages

Improved Scorch (Talent) - Redesign. Scorch spells have a 20/40/60/80/100%
chance to cause your target to be vulnerable to Fire damage. This
vulnerability increases the Fire damage dealt to your target by 2% and can
be stacked up to 5 times for a total of 10% increased Fire damage.

New Spell: Arcane Brilliance (available at level 56 - Loot) - Infuses the
target's party with brilliance, increasing their Intellect.

Improved Mana Shield - Design changed. Instead of increasing the amount
absorbed, it now decreases the mana lost per point of damage taken by
10/20%.
Holy shits, there IS a god if this is true.

mages are already really nice and one of the best pvp classes (if not the best), why are they giving them all these nice skills? :(

I'd assume that these are true, but unedited. As we all know in addition to engineers lack of basic math skills they can't spell either ;o)

Arcane Brilliance is just like Prayer of Fort. Just buffs a target group with AI. I think it's a welcome addition and should keep downtime lower than it already is. Especially with the added downtime our mages have conjuring crystal water for us, I really like this spell.

As for the changes to their talents, I can't comment, because I don't know the specifics of how they worked pre patch.

Are the changes to scorth and mana shield talents a buff or a nerf?

Diminishing retuns on chill and immobilization spells in pvp are certainly a nerf. Though, mage battles are relatively short, so I don't know that it's a major nerf.

Mages?

At least the frost nova nerf will make Firby less of a pain in duels. Not that I expect to beat him even then.
